Caption : The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, conferring a Fellowship of Jamsetji TATA National Virtual Academy (NVA) for Rural Prosperity to a person from Rajasthan at the 1st convocation of Jamsetji Tata National Virtual Academy and 2nd convention of National Alliance, in New Delhi on July 11, 2005. The President inducted the first 140 Fellows of the NVA drawn from 16 States. The Fellows of NVA are rural women and men who have studied up to the Tenth class or up to the first degree. They will be master trainers and undertake the training of other rural women and men as well as children. These grassroots academicians will be the torchbearers of the rural knowledge revolution. The National Alliance aims at achieving "Mission 2007" (connecting every village through a network of knowledge centres).
