Caption : A little boy works in his father's pineapple garden situated along the Guwahati-Shillong National Highway in Nongpoh, 40 km away from Shillong, capital of Meghalaya state on June 28, 2005. Fruits season has started in Meghalaya and will last till the end of August. Local people put small shops along the highway and sell their products to tourists. Meghalaya has the highest rain fall in the world and during this monsoon season lot of tourists from around the world come to visit this beautiful state. Agriculture is the main occupation of the Khasi people live in Meghalaya and more than 80 per cent of the population depends on agriculture.
