Caption : KARBI ANGLONG, ASSAM, 14/10/2016: A Karbi tribesman shows a Golden Mahseer fish locally called as Nutheng which he caught from Amtereng River in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on October 14, 2016. During the monsoon season Karbi people live near by the Amtereng River catch Nutheng fish with fishing road where they use corn as fish bait. Every morning and evening fishermen feed the Nutheng with corns in the river and once they get used to it villagers catch them with corn bait. This unique method is used to catch the Nutheng which is a delicacy among the Karbies. The population of the most beautiful fish in India-Golden Mahseer in the rivers of the northeast has dwindled alarmingly over the years because of over fishing.
