Caption : A view of the ITDC Kovalam Asoka Beach Resort near Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the southern Indian State of Kerala. This resort is situated on a hillock that overlooks the Arabian Sea. Kovalam beach is a perennial favourite of the tourists. The crescent-shaped beaches of Kovalam can be divided into three parts. The southern most beach, and the most popular, is the Lighthouse Beach. Further south on the beach one can have a spectacular view of the Vizhinzam mosque. The middle beach is called Hawah. The northern-most beach, Samudra, dotted with few rudimentary wooden fishing vessels, is the least affected of all, by the changing times.
