The expert teams consulted for review have unequivocally said that the MEGA-Dam Projects should not be located in the Seismically sensitive Himalayan foothill areas. But the Governments in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh States and the Centre have not implemented the recommendation of the experts. Several organizations have been protesting against the MEGA-Dam Projects being constructed in the North East Region of the Country.
